Community
Contributing to the communities in which we live and do business is central to the Slate Properties’ mission. Throughout the year, the Slate team sponsors various comunity outreach activities and encourage our owners, residents and business partners to participate.
Involvement
Walk for the Homeless
The most notable event is the Slate Properties Team for the annual Walk for the Homeless in November. The walk takes palce on the National Mall and is usually held the weekend before Thanksgiving. Slate is plroud to sponsor the team (and each participant) and the event allows our clients, owners and residents to meet each other while supporting such a worhtwhile cause.

Adopt-a-Block
In order to help preserve the beauty and character of our neighborhoods, the Slate Team participates in the District of Columbia’s “Adopt-a-block” program. This year, we have adopted two blocks in the Columbia Heights neighborhood and commit to cleaning the streetscape on a regular basis. Want to volunteer in one of our regular “clean-ups?” Give us a call!
The Arts
Slate Properties is proud to support the performing arts by sponsoring a community-based chorus - The 18th Street Singers. The ensemble was initially formed in 2004 and comprises young people living and working in The District. Performances are held throughout the year and they have recently released their debut album, 18th and U. Learn more at www.18thstreetsingers.com
Habitat for Humanity
Slate is currently forming a team to participate in the Great Capital Area Habitat for Humanity program. Want to join our team? Give us a call!
