Contributing to and playing an active role in the communities in which we live and work is important to the Slate Properties’ team. Throughout the year, we sponsor various community organizations, outreach activities, and charity fundraisers. We strongly believe that many people doing little things can literally transform our neighborhoods and reinvigorate our communities.
Habitat for Humanity: Being in the residential sales industry, we see first-hand the joy in moving into your own home. This mission is accomplished for the less fortunate through the work of the local DC Habitat for Humanity. Slate is proud to sponsor their on going efforts. Learn more about the work of this global organization at www.dchabitat.org
Sitar Arts Center: Located a few short blocks from the Slate Office is the Sitar Arts Center which provides art education and services in a fostering environment for DC children. Through volunteering and financial support, Slate is able to make a direct impact in our immediate neighborhood. Learn more about the great work and volunteer opportunities at www.sitarartscenter.org
Martha’s Table: Located in Logan Circle, Martha’s Table serves the needs of low-income families by providing quality education, affordable clothing, and healthy food for over eighteen thousand children and families throughout DC. Slate’s food and clothing drive each year benefits the families touched by Martha’s Table. Learn more at www.marthastable.net
City Dogs Rescue: Slate Properties is proud to announce its newest community partnership as a Sponsor of City Dogs Rescue. They offer a lifeline to as many of these wonderful pups as possible. Sadly, many of the dogs that City Dogs Rescue takes in are just days—and sometimes hours—from being euthanized for no reason other than lack of space. By finding these dogs permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we can enrich lives—both human and canine. Learn more about the canine rescue at www.citydogsrescuedc.org Charity Walk:
Each spring and fall, the Slate team selects an organization’s “Walk” or “Run” and participates with our families and friends. In the past, we’ve participated in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, the Walk to End Homelessness, the Brain Tumor Walk, and the Kidney Foundation Walk.
