Discover Capitol Hill Real Estate

The vast majority of Capitol Hill homes for sale are historic row homes that come in an extremely wide variety of styles, creating plenty of diversity within the market. Locals and visitors are dazzled by the curb appeal of the brightly colored exterior walls and elegant designs of Queen Anne and Beaux Arts homes built in the Victorian and Federal eras. The beauty of these homes has stood the test of time, as the exteriors are constantly admired by passersby.

You'll generally find the larger row homes at the high end of the Capitol Hill real estate market located on, or around, more active streets such as East Capitol Street, 8th Street, or 11th Street. These homes are several stories high and feature a minimum of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 3,000 square feet of space inside. Despite being built in the 1800s and early 1900s, the interiors are updated to include the following features:

  • Pristine flooring
  • Marvelous molding
  • Modern appliances
  • Eat-in kitchens
  • Walk-in closets

Capitoll Hill also includes a range of more modestly sized row homes that provide an equally beautiful, but far more affordable, option for some residents. Most of these homes are situated on quieter streets and near Capitol Hill's borders, which are Maryland Avenue (near Stanton Park) to the north, the Southeast Freeway to the south, a combination of 13th Street and 8th Street to the east, and South Capitol Street to the west. Many families prefer these homes because of their location in calmer residential environments.

A smaller selection of single-family homes of all sizes and styles, as well as upscale condos are also available in Capitol Hill. Families who prfer detached residences and more yard space adore these traditional single-family homes, while students and first-time buyers love the fabulous condo buildings near the heart of the neighborhood.
