Already planning your spring garden or home renovation projects? Take advantage of the Capital Remodel and Garden Show this weekend at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. The show is open 10AM-9PM on Friday and Saturday and 10AM-6PM on Sunday. Visitors can tour Five Featured Gardens that include water features, garden accessories, and lush greenery and flowers. Guests can also purchase items at the Flower Market by Merrifield Garden Center that will feature fresh flowers, plants, and house decor.

Excavation work continues at The Perla Condominiums located on the site of the former Scripture Cathedral Church at 9th and  O Street NW. The 66-unit LEED Gold property, developed by Four Points LLC, will feature 9 foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, chef-inspired kitchens with Italian cabinetry, and luxury baths. The average weekly 30-year fixed rate mortgage is up over a quarter of a point to 4.22%. According to Freddie Mac, "The Federal Reserve did not hike rates this week, but the market views future hikes as a near certainty. The expectation of future Fed rate hikes and increased borrowing by the US Treasury is putting pressure on interest rates." The 30-year fixed rate has increased over the last four weeks and are higher than where they were last year at this time.
